Greater New Bedford Catholic Schools have recently been awarded a $10,000 grant by the Carney Foundation so that our teachers and staff may be trained to use Responsive Classroom. Responsive Classroom practices and strategies help teachers foster positive community, integrate engaging academics with the teaching of social and emotional skills, and create the conditions for positive student behavior. We are excited to receive funding to train nearly all of our staff!
To that end, HFHN will be adjusting our calendar to add a professional day on Tuesday, January 16th, following the Martin Luther King Holiday on Monday. This day will be used for Responsive Classroom training, so that we can more effectively use this approach in the coming months.
Please note that we will no longer have a professional day on Monday, April 2, 2018, as this day will have been used in January.
Extended Care will be available on January 16.
